Winston-Salem State opened up the 2014-15 season with a 102-90 win at home on Saturday. But the game wasn't played in The Gaines Center, it was played in venerable Whitaker Gym. The 60 year-old gym had to stand in for its 38 year-old counterpart as the finishing touches were put on the new floor.
