After months of waiting, we now know who will be behind the mic when Winston-Salem State kicks off the 2014 football season. The university announced today that Jeremy "JJ" Johnson has been named the new PA announcer.

Johnson has spent the last four seasons as entertainment host with the Winston-Salem Dash, the city's minor league baseball field. He'll be joined by student Devin Pass, who will roam the sidelines and the crowds.

“JJ Johnson has the iconic voice, experience, energy and excitement that we were looking for, while Devin Pass is recognized by our students and will be a perfect fit for our goal to engage our fans as a sideline host. I'm excited to welcome them both to the Ram family,” says Walker.

The pair have the tough task of replacing Brian "B Daht" McLaughlin, who served as PA address announcer for the better part of a decade. The WSSU alum and 102 Jamz Radio Host was not brought back following the 2013 season.

WSSU opens up its season at Bowman Gray Stadium against UNC-Pembroke.
